I’ve become bored doing Sunwatchers Bulletin and this season is always of less interest to me Sunwatcher-wise. I’ve been ramping up my photo site and have a new blog and photo site associated with the old familiar one. I hope you will visit it. I am willing to keep up the seasonal updates on this new site. It will be more photographically oriented and less chat oriented. I will leave Sunwatchers Bulletin intact for the time being. It may become enticing once again later.
Here’s the link to today’s most relevant post:

April Arrivals

Dear Sunwatchers,
The Sun Arrived, showed up, crashed through the clouds and shone on us today!
I knew it was a good day when there was a young eagle in the tree beside the parking lot. And when I turned I could see three more in distant trees. The only adult was this fellow.

Bald Eagle

I saw my first swallow about two weeks ago. But here’s the first one to pose for a photo this year.

It’s all about “out with the old and in with the new” this week!

Rose Hip Surpassed

Emerging

The statistics, of course, are fine. The sun rose today at 6:49. It will set at 19:43, providing us with a great long evening. The plants are behind schedule but the light is calling them upward and outward now.

Hope you are enjoying the show which is just getting underway. Until next time, I remain your friend and bulletineer,

Goldeneyes and Log’s Garden

Dear Sunwatchers,
What a weekend!! What a first weekend of Spring! I am hoping the weekend pattern is now fixed for the Season.
Nature’s garden is hard at work. Gardening on a log has its challenges but look what there is to behold on close inspection.

The light was right and the birds were posing. The northern ducks are still here.

This hawk was conversing with a couple of crows high above.

The water was beautiful in the morning sun.

Water Weaving with Reflected Piling

The statistics are great, of course, as we move onward to the longer days we all enjoy. The sun rose today at 7:04 and will set at 19:33. Sadly the forecast seems to have accurately predicted that the skies will begin to cloud in time for commuters and Monday to Friday workers.

Until next time, enjoy the lengthening days and the warmth of the Sun and the green explosion about us!

Spring’s Threshold

Dear Sunwatchers,
On a day when it was 4 degrees at 330 p.m., it might be hard to believe that this is the Eve of Spring. It would be hard to miss the multiple signs of spring about us, however. From this guy:

Favourite Harbinger

to these (taken on a warmer and sunnier day):

Crocuses

and these:

Pink Rhodies and birch tree

There’s hard work remaining.

Surpassing the Remnants of Winter Past

The statistics show that we are at the Equinox. The sun rose today at 7:19 and set at 19:22. The clouds this afternoon were much more of the spring and summer cumulus variety instead of the flat greys of winter. We have been blessed by several rainbows in recent days.

All that’s left to do is to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!
Until next time,
I remain your friend and Bulletineer,
